1990 Teddy McCarthy and the Rebels do the Double

In 1990 Cork did the double and Teddy McCarthy became the only player in the history of the GAA to win All Ireland senior hurling and football medals in the same year. Some feat!

In the hurling Cork defeated Galway with the massive scoreline of 5-15 to 2-21.

In the football it was also Corks year defeating Meath in the Final 0-11 to 0-09.

Cork v Meath rivalry dominated gaelic football in the late 80's and this win in 1990 was sweet revenge for the defeats of '87 and '88
